Does this sound familiar? You look in the mirror.. suddenly the negative self talk kicks in. You start telling yourself negative and false beliefs about yourself and how you look. Before you know it you’re down a rabbit hole of negative self talk and conversations that aren’t anywhere true. The spiral has happened and you’re there again believing that you aren’t good enough or pretty enough. This is all too true for most women. Ms. E was exactly the same as the story above. But Ms. E’s boudoir session was the change to this narrative that she needed. It’s what you could use to combat this story too. Read to hear it from her words.
Tell us your story, a little bit about you and why you decided to do a boudoir session? Is your story what made you decide to do this for yourself?
Where do I begin?! Despite what the world wants you to believe there is no perfect body. When you look in the mirror we can forget how beautiful we are. The negative self talk starts and before we know it we’ve created this whole narrative that isn’t true. I am guilty of that. But this photo shoot was a reminder that I am a beautiful person. Feeling so beautiful and confident will shine through in these photos. My husband will love them. Mostly they were for me. I can feel proud to show my daughter when she gets older that inner beauty is far more important then anything else. That she should thank her body for what it can do.
What was your biggest concern prior to booking your Boudoir Session? How do you feel now?
My biggest concern was noticing all the things I consider “flaws” when I looked at my pictures. After my session I am confident that I won’t be looking at those things. Melissa helped me comfortable in my skin.
What, specifically, did you enjoy most about your portrait session and why?
I loved that Melissa and Jessie were so great to work with. We chatted and I felt like I was taking to my girl friends before we started.
Were you comfortable during your session? How did I make you feel? Did my posing instruction help you feel more confident?
I was so comfortable. I trusted that you knew the poses that would be the most flattering. Your posing helped me envision what my final images would be. I felt spoiled and stunning.
What did this shoot do for your self confidence, self worth, and self image? Did you discover anything about yourself that you didn’t know was there or that you forgot was there? How has your boudoir experience affected you or changed you? Tell me your story.
The past few years has been hard on me personally. I went through some things that shattered who I thought I was. It’s been a fight to get back to a good place. I wanted to do this to restore some of the things that I temporarily lost. This is just a piece of my journey. These images will remind of where I’ve been and honor that in a way. It’s helped me remember that I am beautiful with our with out the stunning hair and makeup. I discovered that I can rock some sexy lingerie and heels.
