We love sharing more than just beautiful photos from boudoir sessions. We like being able to share stories and words about why this is important and what makes women want something like this. Here’s some amazing words from Ms. E’s boudoir session.

What do you remember learning about your self worth from a young age? What impacted you the most that you’ve carried with you into adulthood (positive or negative)?: Growing up it felt like there was always a competition between family members on body weight n ideas. As I got older, the competition went from family to friends with the need to always b stick thin. There was never from what I can remember.

Tell me your story! What life experiences have made you who you are today?: Grow up with a love for sports, got caught up in the wrong crowd.. over came drug addiction and a gym addiction. I found myself searching for things in the drugs and gym that were never really there. Thought if I did them, people would want me around more, like me more, etc.. but I definitely learned that was never the case and I didnt need to ruin myself for the approval of others. Today, I am where I am bc I learned to have a voice and to follow my own path. And it’s okay to not have everyone love/like you.

What is the hardest thing that you have had to overcome? What is the life lesson that you learned from it that you could pass on to others?: One of the hardest things I’ve had to overcome is a drug addiction. It took a very long time to realize that I was worth more then I was giving myself. The lesson I took from it n would love to pass on is that, is no matter the situation you always deserve the best. For years, I told myself all I deserved was the shitty situations I put myself in. Once realizing I deserved more, I was worth more, it fueled a fire to get better for myself.

What is your definition of self love?: Self love is self care. Taking the time to acknowledge yourself, your feelings. Your wants and needs.

What makes you feel sexy?: Feeling sexy is a rare thing for me lately. after baby #2, its hard to appreciate my body. But when I do, its after I put on a cute pair of underwear or knowing I have something I little bit sexier under my day old comfy clothes.

What is your favorite NON physical feature about yourself? (After all, beauty is only skin deep!): My compassion/understanding for others.

What words of wisdom, based on your personal experience, would you like to share with others who struggle to see their own self worth?: It can’t rain all the time. Even though it is tough to see and feel, its not always going to feel that way. Baby steps, I still struggle with it but it gets easier the more you work at self care/love.

When was the last time that you spent money on just you? What was your motivation in doing that?: Within the last month, I bought new work out clothes. I’ve been working hard at finding a new healthy balance for myself with exercise and diet.

Why are beautiful photos important for you right now?: I want a reminder of how far I’ve come. I also want to show off the body that gave me my beautiful baby girls.

How does being the woman you are today make you uniquely powerful?: Knowing the struggles I have overcome and can overcome makes me feel powerful.

Is there anything else you want to add about doing this session?: Just looking forward to the possible opportunity to show myself a little more love.
