I could tell you what a boudoir session looks and feels like. I could tell you about all the things you can gain from doing a boudoir session. But the best way for you to feel, know and understand what a boudoir session does for you is to hear from one of our very own boudie babes herself. Here’s what Ms. S’s boudoir session was like in her own words.

Tell us your story, a little bit about you and why you decided to do a boudoir session? Is your story what made you decide to do this for yourself?

At the start of 2019 I learned I had PCOS and that was the reason why I was gaining weight and that due to the hormone imbalance it would be a lot harder for me to get pregnant. This really took a toll on me and ultimately my marriage. I began to feel like I was worthless and not enough for anyone. As time went on I started feeling like I wasn’t pretty and no one would ever love me again, but at the end of 2019 I meant an amazing man on a work trip he made me feel beautiful and worthy but we lived states apart. We did long distance for awhile but my depression was starting to take a toll so I decided to move to Minnesota from Michigan, the only place I’ve know as home, to be with my boyfriend. It was extremely hard to move during the pandemic, I felt isolated and alone even though I was living with my boyfriend. As my depression got worse so did my self image. I saw what I was doing to myself and I didn’t want to continue living like that so I started focusing on myself. An advertisement came up on Facebook for a boudoir session, something I’ve always wanted to do sometime but never had the guts or funds to do so. Since nothing else was helping me see my true self and I’ve always wanted to do one I took the leap and contacted Melissa and I’ll never regret it.

What was your biggest concern prior to booking your Boudoir Session? How do you feel now?

Being so nervous the photos didn’t look good. I’d feel comfortable to do another shoot with Melissa or recommend her to any of my friends.

What, specifically, did you enjoy most about your portrait session and why?

The final reveal because of how beautiful they came out and made me feel.

Were you comfortable during your session? How did I make you feel? Did my posing instruction help you feel more confident?

At first I felt really unsure and awkward but Melissa made me feel more comfortable and while I was still somewhat nervous I felt comfortable as if I was just spending time with a friend. Seeing the poses before getting in them myself made the experience more enjoyable and less weird or uncomfortable.

What did this shoot do for your self confidence, self worth, and self image? Did you discover anything about yourself that you didn’t know was there or that you forgot was there? How has your boudoir experience affected you or changed you? Tell me your story.

The photo shoot really showed me how doing something for myself was so important and even though my body isn’t perfect I’m still beautiful just as I am.

Was your experience what you were expecting? If not, how was it different?

I didn’t really know what to expect other then we’d be taking photos. So I guess you could say it was what I was expecting yet at the same time wasn’t. I never expected it to be so fun, time just flew by, Melissa was so easy to work with and helpful.

What advice would you give someone who is nervous about or hesitant to book their own boudoir experience with me?

It doesn’t have to be super skimpy lingerie, wear whatever your comfortable in and make you feel best. Don’t overthink it and just do it, you’re going to love the experience and the photos will look amazing!
