Finding lingerie for every day wear, for a fun night in, or for your next boudoir session can be very intimidating. But it doesn’t have to be. The first thing for you to figure out is.. what is your body shape. In this blog, we’re going to discuss the pear body shape specifically.

What is an pear body shape? Knowing what body shape you are first helps you to then know what to wear based on that shape. Here’s a quick description of an pear body shape.

Pear Shape Defined

A pear body type, also known as a triangle body type, usually has a curvy waist and hips with a modest bustline. They are usually a little more voluptuous at the bottom or hip area compared to the top which is usually smaller. Many times you will wear a smaller size on top than you will on the bottom. Having this shape, you will likely have slim arms and shoulders and a long neck.

Now that you know you’re an pear body shape, what do you choose to wear for lingerie for your body type?

Lingerie that accentuates your upper half is where you want to focus. Since your upper half is narrower than your hips and thighs you want to choose pieces that draw the eye towards your top half. Choose pieces that highlight your clavicle, shoulders, and arms to help highlight that top part of your body more. Here are some more lingerie options for this body type.

Types of Lingerie to Wear

Ruffles or a Padded Bra

To balance out the top half of your body try a top that has ruffles to flatter and draw the eye up to that part. Even a padded bra that adds some volume will also draw the eye upwards. Both of these are great choices to help balance out with your voluptuous bottom half. When you pair panties with these bra tops, go for high cut low waisted choices that help give a slimming effect for your bottom half.

If you’re looking for some ruffles you can try something like this really flirty pink combo. Or for something padded with a little flair, try this lavender purple padded bra.

Bandeau with Brief or High-Waisted Bottom

Having a bandeau on the top half will had the illusion of width because of the way it cuts straight across the torso. Then it’s a great idea to pair that with a brief or a high waisted panty to help compliment the curves on your bottom half. Either of these two pieces are super easy to find anywhere and that means they can also come in a variety of colors and styles. Opt for a solid matching color or something very lacey and cute.

Chiffon Gown

A really great way to draw the eye to the top half of your body and to downplay your curvy bottom half is to try a flowy gown. You could choose a gown that shows off a lot of skin on your top half. One that has small straps, lots of lace or no straps at all make for great choices on your flowy gown.

Chiffon lingerie gown choices are endless. Choose this black dress with a cute slit. Or give some fun lace robes a try going over the other pieces you have to give that same effect. Blue Robe.
