Being prepared for getting pampered for your hair and makeup for your boudoir session is important. Our amazing hair and makeup artist Jessi Boike (https://www.facebook.com/mkjessiwendland) has taken the time to offer some help and tips on what you can do and what you should avoid. Here are some great tips on how to prepare for glamorous makeup and flawless skin for your Boudoir session:

DO:

Exfoliate (little scrubbies) your face 2x per week the 2 weeks leading up to your session

Wash your face with facial cleanser and a washcloth or brush daily!  Ideally, twice per day.  ALWAYS moisturize after washing your face.

Further Wax/thread/pluck or manicure your eyebrows MORE than 3 days before your session.  If you wax them, it removes the skin and leaves a residue that makeup does not stick to for 1-2 days.

Come to your session with a clean, makeup-free face.  Above all, NO RACCOON eyes from the night before.

DON’T:

Get too sunburnt; and have peeling skin.  We can’t fix this!

Pick acne to make scabs on your face!

Spray tan your face (makeup doesn’t stick very well)

Try any crazy masks or new products that may cause a rash or a skin irritation.

To sum up, here’s how to prepare for glamorous makeup and flawless skin for your Boudoir session. I hope those tips help you feel more prepared and at ease for coming to have your hair and makeup done before your session. These tips on the DO list are great things to keep in mind for every day skin care too.
