WHY FEELING BAD ABOUT YOUR LOOKS WON’T EVER MAKE YOU FEEL GOOD ABOUT YOURSELF

SECRET TO FEELING GOOD ABOUT YOURSELF (HINT: KINDNESS ALWAYS WINS)

One of the most common mistakes 90% of my clients make is not changing the words about themselves from negative to positive conversations. Why feeling bad about yourself and your looks is hard on yourself is something we need to talk about.

When you’ve been told over and over that you need to look or feel a certain way you start to feel down about yourself. The negative verbiage starts to come up all the time in your head and tell you that you need to change to be someone different.

Truth is, that’s never going to help you change. That’s never going to actually make you feel better about yourself and help you to feel good about who and what you are. Truth of the matter is that being kind to yourself and talking to yourself and about yourself the same way you do to your friends is what is going to change things for you.

Here are 3 things, in my opinion, that you MUST work on to be able to start seeing yourself in the right light and start being truly kind to yourself.

1 Find a tribe

Other people can truly see the beauty in each other. It’s seriously hard to not critique ourselves when we look in the mirror. But true friends and others who want to see you win will tell you just how amazing you are.

When you find a tribe that believes in you and wants the same things you do, they will be there with encouragement and support to guide you through your journey. They will be there to give you the kindness and gentle, loving words you need when you’re not able to give it to yourself.

2 Be Kind

Seriously, I already mentioned that this was how you win this game. But I also know exactly how HARD it is to do this. So, start small. Say one kind thing to yourself in the mirror every day. It doesn’t have to be a whole mantra of things that takes half an hour to repeat. Just pick one TRUE, kind thing about yourself and say, out loud, in the mirror to yourself.

Over time, the more you do this, the more you’ll start to really believe and feel these things. And then you can start adding more kind things to your daily conversation.

3 Unfollow and follow

Stop following anything on social media that makes you feel bad about yourself or your life. Those things are only going to continue to make you feel bad and won’t help you win and heal your life to learn to be kind to yourself. Negativity is only going to keep feeding negativity and we want to get you out of that feeling. Not everyone is in the same place and everyone’s journey is different. So, walk away from those things that aren’t helping you.

But to go along with that, follow people who inspire you and encourage you to feel good about yourself. It’s great to have inspiration somewhere because we can’t always do it on our own. We need help from people who are doing what we inspire to do. So, go out and find friends, accounts, and anything that helps you to change the words in your head and inspires you to be a better version of yourself. Being able to start seeing how to be kind to yourself and to be able to see yourself in a good way will change everything.

Keep trucking along every day with these changes. Hopefully this will show you why feeling bad about yourself and your looks is hard on yourself. Let me know if this resonated with you and comment below.
